What We Do (Specialty Area)
Our focus is on serving children, teen mothers and youth at risk through our Redeem Lead Transform (RLT) program.
Our Approach
We create a supportive ecosystem for vulnerable children, youth, and teen mothers, addressing their spiritual, emotional, social, and economic needs. By engaging families and communities, we build a foundation for growth, resilience, and purpose.
Scope
Operate in Eastern Eastern province; Bugesera District and Ngoma District: Serving 250 children, 120 teens, with plans to empower 100 youth in 2025.
Our programs
We run life-changing, faith-driven programs that support teen mothers, vulnerable children, and at-risk youth—helping them heal, grow, and thrive in their communities.
Redeem, Lead, Transform (RLT)
Supports at risk youth with Rehabilitation, Leadership Training and Faith Based Transformation.
Family Socio-Economic Programs
This is a direct intervention into household economic empowerment. Entrepreneurship workshops and financial literacy training provide the foundational knowledge for generating income, managing money, and starting small businesses, which is crucial for achieving self-reliance.
Nurture the Whole Child (NWC)
This initiative invests in long-term economic resilience. By ensuring vulnerable children receive education, nutrition, and support, EMF is breaking the cycle of poverty at its root. An educated, healthy child is far more likely to complete their studies and successfully transition into the workforce or vocational training later, becoming a productive, self-sustaining adult.
Vocational Training
This is the core practical engine of EMF's economic empowerment goal. It equips teenagers and youth with tangible, market-relevant skills that lead directly to job readiness and the ability to generate a sustainable livelihood.
Social Protection & Advocacy Care
This program safeguards economic potential. By advocating for the rights of vulnerable individuals and providing safe spaces, EMF protects them from exploitation and abuse that could derail their journey to education and employment, ensuring their economic potential is not lost.
Spiritual Mentorship Program
We restore the whole person through holistic discipleship, guiding youth and communities in structured Bible study using trusted Rafiki Foundation tools. This nurtures spiritual, emotional, and moral growth—laying a strong foundation for a life of purpose, resilience, and hope.
Youth Employment Program
This represents the final strategic objective of all preceding programs. It is the culmination of EMF's work: a dedicated plan focusing on job placement, entrepreneurship support, and fostering complete self-reliance. This initiative explicitly aims to translate all the holistic support into tangible economic outcomes.
Grace and Glow (G2)
This program does more than offer reintegration and healing; it is the first critical step in economic stabilization for teen mothers. By addressing trauma and providing mentorship on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, it prepares them mentally and emotionally to engage in vocational and entrepreneurial training, ensuring they are ready to learn and build a sustainable future.

Edward Musonera Foundation (EMF) is a faith based, women led, youth initiated non profit foundation founded in Rwanda in 2022.
It was born from the founder Nnakubulwa Hamidah’s personal journey of overcoming hardship, abuse, and teen motherhood experiences she shares with many vulnerable children, teenage mothers, and youth across Rwanda.
EMF is legally registered with the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB) under legal personality No. 81/RGB/FDN/LP/02/2025.
EMF works in communities, especially in Bugesera and Ngoma Districts in the Eastern Province, serving vulnerable children, teen mothers and youth at risk.
